It was about as predictable as a Tuesday coming after Monday, but it was quite a surprise to see Marion walk away with the Best Actress award. It was also the only other performance I didn't see(except Laura Linney but they didn't play the Savages anywhere around here) Marion went in as the underdog and came out the winner. I LOVE Daniel Day Lewis, his performances are incredible, he always throws himself into a role and he appears to be a genuinely good guy as well, which I really respect. Marion Cotillard's acceptance speech was so sweet, it was so genuine...I could have lived without the montages too, and I really didn't like the host...he was so boring! :p There were some really strong choices this year, I really want to see Savages (love Laura Linney's other work) and am hoping to get to both There Will Be Blood and No Country this week.

Anyways, I'll stop spamming you now. ;-)

Hey sarah, be sure to check back here later and see my picks for the Golden Bagels 2008 where I, myself will offer what I feel the best of the year in films for writing, acting, directing and overall film. My picks may mirror some of the oscars, golden globes, etc but it's really hard to disagree with a lot of the performances that those award shows picked..but many were left out!
