You crazy kids and your pushbikes and treadmills. In my day, the only treadmills were those connected, Rube Goldberg style, to flour mills. You'd have run for your bread both figuratively and then literally (because there were bread thieves about y'know).

I'm just trying to remember what happened to my old bike and I'm afraid I'm going to unearth some shattering conspiracy secret. I remember having one and then I remember...um, not having one. :(

Make sure you get out and run in the open air once in a while though, okay? Treadmills are great but there's something about taking off for a run though the park that is wonderful too...

Speaking of which, I need to get dressed and go for a dash myself, come to think of it. Keep up the exercise, dear! *poke poke*

Oh, see, ours are just connected to turbines at the gym on campus, it's how they power the building. They used to have hamster wheels, but there was some complaint about it being too "degrading" or something, I don't know ( ... )

Actually, I also employ a similar jog/walk cycle after a suitable period of warm-up. The path around the lake and park measures almost exactly 1.5k around the loop, and each 100m is marked off with bronze plaques on the ground, and I try to pace myself with whatever music I have playing currently, I guess those are my metrics.

I kinda like the "run run run run", too. ^^;

I'm not sure what my motivation is for doing this to myself every morning. I'm sure there's something in it that is tragically aesthetic, toning myself up and losing the weight I've been trying to convince myself I wasn't gaining...Hope says I look fine, but I'm not so sure. :/

Aesthetics are a fine motivation, nothing wrong with wanting to look good. My goal is a tummy that doesn't wiggle when I walk. :3
