Thank you! I do fairly well with non-fiction writing (descriptions, analyses, even poetry back in high school), but my dialogue writing tends to be really stilted. I just can't quite "hear" voices in my head well enough to write them down.

Besides, a lot of the professional writers I've seen interviewed say they *have* to write, that they have so many ideas running around in their heads they have to get written down. That seems to be the case with a lot of you excellent fanfic writers, too. I, on the hand, don't. I can come up with a situation well enough for a prompt, but I can't easily imagine what happens next.

*shrug* It doesn't bother me to not write fic. I mean, I'm not frustrated or angsty or excessively negative about my skills. I just don't have the desire to write fic. I love reading and would far rather do that than write! *grin*

I totally understand. I never thought I'd be able to write fic. I have always had a desire to write, but could never get the stories with my original characters fully developed. So, I suppose, this is good practice. And I'm glad there are people like you out there to enjoy my work. :)
