today has been doubly inspiring and totally insane.  maybe they go together?  who knows.  but what is really getting me right now, in the midst of the craziness happening in my head is something my theater history teacher said today

the mere fact of people hiding and running away from the truth has always been a problem with society. no one wants to hear the facts of life, the things that really matter to stay alive, to live your life and live it with pride and truth. No one tells the straight truth anymore and when they say they do, that they never lie, they're lying. There are no more realist in this world even though there are said to be some. They're are only the cowards who hide from the truth, hide from the pain, the hurt, the mess this world has turned itself into because of the inconsiderate people who inhabit it. We turned hate into a understatement with the things our generation has seen. Things from an innocent man getting his head cut off with a blade by a group of people we don't even understand. we refuse to understand. why? why is it so wrong for us to understand their way of life. It might be wrong and socially unacceptable to us but they have lived that way for centuries and no stuck up red white and blue wearing Americans are going to stop that

Reading this and the comments on this saddened me. Because if you are all thinking this way, you are all very much the stereotypical college student still. Think outside of the box. or rather, there are two boxes, the box of the norm, what everyone is told to think, and the box that people think makes them different. yet, they are still boxes. i applaude those that are of teh box that is different (yet still, it's still kind of the same, just not what the masses are believing...) however, THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX
