The big clue that it's my handwriting is the way the 'A's are written. /random

That's interesting, because I looked at that and immediately thought "songwriting". The letters from A to G written in groups of four to me scream out standard chord progressions!

(The slide, however, was mystifying.)

Especially CFCC (typical chord combination) and ADDA (another typical chord combination).

I should perhaps have pointed out that the handwritten parts have no relation to the printed parts. ;)

You're on the right track with music, although it refers to individual notes, not chords. In a way it's an obscure pop culture reference.

Individual notes in groups of four are unusual, in my experience. Interesting, but I'm no good with obscure references, so I give up!
