To be honest, it isn't that wonderful - winter in Vancouver is grey skies and bare trees and drizzle. It snowed once, but it didn't stick around for more than a day.
The weather being cold is nice in that things like mulled wine and steaming hot food seem a lot more appealing. (I tried some mulled wine at a carolling party we went to and severely disliked the 'wine' aspect, but I'm contemplating the possibility of mulled apple juice or something.) So that's good.
But yes, I can see the appeal of hot food in cold weather, I say looking forward to a roast meal at my parents unairconditioned house with my large family :/
I think the half-cup of mulled wine I had then was the most alcoholic drink I've ever had at one time. I prefer apple juice to grape juice, but the latter would be more 'authentic'.
My Christmases were usually a lot like that (although my parents got aircon a few years back). I think my favourites were the ones at my aunt's in Geraldton, because it was usually more of a BBQ and salad meal, and cooler than Upper Swan. *nostalgia*

I suppose I might as well snitch a Wave invite. Might as well have it for when it comes in handy, I guess!
edit: you get Yuletide in all right, or did you not end up participating?

Yep, I got Yuletide in just fine!
PS: Invite sent, not sure how long it'll take to get to you.

Yay Yuletide! The archive goes live on Christmas Day (US time) right?
I need to leave for work in 15 minutes, if it doesn't arrive by then I will have to poke it tonight.

Other than that, I'm just happy to hear basic updates on how life is treating you in Candaia.
(*) birds/trees especially, but also general land/streetscapes.

I'd like photos and recipes, but also just the generic blog entries of what you are doing, films you've seen or thoughts on things. :)
