Kay, so we'll be working on Selective Color, Hue/Saturation, and Brightness/Contrast. These are all Adjustment layers. So, yes, we'll be working with PS. I have CS2, but I'm pretty sure it'll work with any other version.
So! We'll be starting with this:
Just as a heads up, the coloring doesn't seem exciting until the end, so if you're doing this and it doesn't seem like I'm getting to the point, be patient. XD
So, go to layer> new adjustment layer > selective color. Use these settings:
Relative
Colors: Reds
Cyan: -50
Magenta: -15
Yellow: 100
Colors: Yellows
Cyan: -100
Yellow: -100
Colors: Neutrals
Cyan: -15
Magenta: -15
Yellow: -10
Black: -5
~and you get this:
Make another Selective color. Use these:
Colors: Reds
Cyan: -100
Yellow: -50
Colors: Neutrals
Cyan: 30
Yellow: -10
Black: 10
And you get this:
Andddd~ another selective layer! xD
Colors: Reds
Cyan: -50
Yellow: 40
Colors: Yellows
Cyan: -20
Yellow: 40
Colors: Neutrals
Cyan: 15
Yellow: -10
And you end up with this.
Finally, we are now getting to the good stuff! Next add a brightness/contrast layer. Just go to layer > new adjustment layer > brightness/contrast.
Brightness: 12
Contrast: 10
looks like this so far:
Next, a hue/saturation layer.
Hue: 0
Saturation: 24
Lightness: 0
lol might as well call it a Saturation layer. Too bad you can't do that...anyway, ends up looking like this:
and now, for your FINAL selective color layer. xD
Colors: Reds
Cyan: -40
Magenta: 25
Yellow: 100
Black: 10
Colors: Yellows
Cyan: 100
Yellow: -100
Colors: Neutrals
Cyan: 100
Yellow: -20
And finally, your end result is...
