ah, reading playboy on debate trips...carrying on corey's debate trip tradition

a. i think james joyce tried to do something with this idea in ulysses

b. just remember that everyone else has a dark side, too. granted, i think that our shitty culture is the culprit. however, you're not alone thinking you're a bad person; i would wager to say that most people would think they are, and it would take a rather ignorant/arrogant person not to think so. besides, just because you/most people think they are, doesn't make it so. there is always someone worse, and someone worse than that, and so on.

c. sometimes it's best to bear your own burden. suffering leads to strength to get through it.

d. this is too vague to comment on. so i'll give two responses:
1. view it as a character building in the real world and dreams as a nice outlet to get those ideas out.
2. psh, self control is overrated. refer to my friends only entry a few weeks back.

I totally agree with A and cynicalcatholic on B.

But I think when you suffer alone you come out a stronger person once you figure out a "solution." - I guess what I'm trying to say is that you can "adapt"/become emotionally stronger. Although it is nice sometimes to have someone to talk to about it, to see what advice he/she gives.

I think see what you mean about D, and I'm running out of time so I can't comment on this.

If you ever need someone to talk to, feel free to IM/email!

Liz, you aren't a terrible person and even if everyone could read minds, no one would ever be so much of an idiot to call you a terrible person. I know exactly what you mean when you say you've know all of us two-thirds of your life and are sick of being judged from first impressions. Don't worry, we'll all have a clean slate soon enough! How many days do we have again? (:
