Today my lungs hurt. But I did get off work early. Now I can do all my homework. I'm trying to be happy but to many other emotions take over. Mainly anger.

I tried out for Southwind this past weekend. Guess who is new to their staff? Shane Gwaltney.

I also heard a few interesting things about Mr. Hannah getting a job with a school from his home county... And I saw him and Mrs. Hannah at the 50th anniversary reunion...

I guess Shane is moving on up... lol. How did the try out go?

Mr.Hannah even mentioned that to us awhile back he said that is what he wants to do when he is done at Choctaw.

I love Southwind and all the people, but they are not moving up from Choctaw. SW is a feeder corp, all the young kids and the people who think they can't cut it march SW, then after a year or two try out somewhere else better.
The audition went great. I haven't been playing trumpet that long, so I was worried about making it, but since it's a lesser known corp, my chances are good. All the people, including the staff, were wonderful. Nelson works with Spirit, and when I told him I was thinking about auditioning for SW, he said verbatim "Why would you want to march with a band that sucks?" LOL. I'm told that Hannah marched with them back in the day.
