Now he aims to hurt, probably wants to provoke her into a fight, she understands as much. But God is he successful, rousing a surge of fury inside of her at his accusations. Yet there is also this nearly indistinguishable trace of self-doubt hidden in his voice that tears her heart into two, making her unable to hold his words against him.
^^ I loved this passage. You can feel everything Castle is feeling in this fic. I want to hug him and yell at him all at the same time.
And I'll be waiting Castle, I don't care how long it takes. Whenever you'll feel ready, I'll be waiting for you. The same way you've always been waiting for me. I understand it now.
Oh, that moment when he says 'loved' and she picks up on it, yet she doesn't back down or give up. ♥
"So for what it's worth, Castle," she continues, subconsciously holding her breath, her hands tightly pressed against the cool steel of his door, "I loved you too

There are no words to explain my love for this story. You are genius my dear. I'm very pleased with the way you wrote this scene. You are spot on with it. I do not see him just being able to just forgive her. The angry Castle is something I wish we could have seen more of after he found out Kate had been lying about her memory of the day she was shot. Wonderful job bringing out that side of him since we don't really see it that much. I so badly want to see Stana and Nathan act this out, lol. I look forward to more angst! It makes the happy ending so much more worth it in the end.
And who said there was a happy ending? *evil grin* Nah, just messing with you. What would be the point of this story, right?
Really glad you enjoy it so far. Yes, I like to see Castle's darker, more volatile side too. He's always so considerate, always so careful what to say and what not, walking on eggshells around Kate and I think now it was his turn to let go.
So sad, but very well done. I like the little glimmer of hope at the end when he asks her if it was past tense.
I particularly like this line: Her mind conjures up images from another time, when her back was pressed against this very same door, his hot breath speaking promises to the skin at her neck, his fingers gently pressing against the puckering flesh of her scar. It's very evocative.
