I read this at work earlier and was left in a big puddle of goo. I love the way Kate opens up to him about what it was like for her, alone and lonely, and how Castle prompts her and really listens to all the things she says and doesn't say. This chapter is so raw. I like the way their familiar banter came at the end to leave it a little lighter than it has been. I can't wait for their coffee date!
I'm finally catching up on this story again (pesky RL got in the way for a while), and I just love this chapter. And it's awesome that there are a bunch more still to read! :)

Castle's wall has to come down soon - although it seems as if it's already crumbling.
Can't wait for the next chapter - and the coffee ;)

Only one tiny quibble:
"A surge of tenderness shoots through his chest and he has to qualm the sudden urge to reach out to her,"
The word you're looking for there is "quash", not qualm. :)
