it sucks hugely. my heart is hurting for all the couples in cali right now that were so happy to just go get married.
it's bullshit. it's so much bullshit. but it's going to die along w/ the rest of the horrible bullshit this country has pulled on its people before, and never has the chance been so good as right now.
I knew this was a possibility but I, along with a lot of people, held out hope that California wouldn't crumble to the same misguided ideals that have continued to foster bigotry in this country.
I'm sad today. Even Obama's election doesn't overshadow that, because, unlike the California vote, Obama's election was a very likely event.
The only thing I can pin my hope on, is that the numbers were close. Very very close. And improving. Which, unless there is a backlash, we'll start winning the majority at the polls soon and the real reform in our social status will begin.
I'm sad, too. It's certainly possible to be both happy and bitterly disappointed today, even knowing what the future may hold. Today, this is a kick in the face and it makes me loathe a whole lot of people.

i am hanging on to what my friend val said this morning - if we can do what we did last night re: obama, we will do this too, and soon.

Well, the Noon8 folks are saying it isn't over yet, and I'm glad they're counting every vote (and protesting!) but ugh...
