Help please.

Is there a good website for music reccommendations? A few artists ahve recently come to my attention (lo-fi, funky, souly, acousticy stuff) and i want to find MORE.

I don't want to trudge through Myspace music really.

Epitonic.com is good -- you type in names of bands/artists and can stream a playlist of material by them as well as similar stuff. You can download mp3s also, it's all legal and approved by the bands. Quite good for finding new bands.

Also, LastFM is a decent enough streaming radio thing where it chooses to play similar stuff based on an artist you type in, although it does play a bit too much mainstreamy shite sometimes. Good for electronica stuff though.

Pandora.com is *awesome* for finding new stuff. It basically 'learns' what type of music you like, and then plays songs similar to it. :) An excellent way to procrastinate . . .

i'm not very internet clever, so it might not be what you're after, but last.fm tells you what to listen to based on what you do listen to.
