I don't remember when Hermione's birthday is. But she definitely took the apparition test. Hmmmm. She can't be a year older than them- unless there's some sort of cutoff. But that seems a bit technical. Or maybe it has something to do with her being muggle-born.
Also maybe you can answer this because it's been something I've wondered about- wizard/witch children don't go to Hogwarts until they're 11. So what kind of education do they have before that? Are they homeschooled? Is there a wizard elementary school that lacks magic? Are they all born knowing how to read?
*not looking at spoilers* Huh? You finished it already? Didn't it come out, like, yesterday?
You and Nat had a cameo in my weird dream last night. We were sitting around, critiquing an Adam Sandler movie, of all things. Why?? It could've at least been something a little more intellectual.

I've thought about pre-Hogwarts children too. Because they wouldn't be so muggle-stumped if they went to public school. Hm. I'm going to jump on the no magic allowed wizard school theory, where they learn things like, oh,... reading, math, non-magical history.
hmm interesting about hermione's birthday... i hadnt remembered when it was. I didnt even know when ron's was until this book. I wonder why she did take the test? I think that muggle born stay back a year.

JKR: [Almost laughing] Well, you've read the book, what do you think?
ES: She's trying to make you say it categorically.
MA: Well, there are conspiracy theorists, and there are people who will claim -
