Begins with an H... and I don't mean "Harry"

Jul 20, 2005 21:33

My discussion grows! I'm bringing this over from Jenni's journal. Yes, it's Harry Potter, yes, major, total, and utter spoilers ahead. ( Sir, what's a...? )

Firstly because Gryffindor and Slytherine are rivals, and it would be satisfying, givin Tom Riddle's history. Eh. But then:

'"Only a true Gryffindor could pull that [Gryffindor's sword] out of a hat, Harry," said Dumbledore simply.' CoS, 334

And the Potters lived in Godric's Hollow. Godric Gryffindor founded Hogwarts.

And James Potter was pure blood. It's possible his lineage goes back to Gryffindor.

i didn't just call you "mitra" nor did i sign my entry "mitra." i was, in fact, typing the name of a file (you guessed it, "mitra") and since my computer is a piece of shit and was freezing up, it somehow put that in my entry, as well as naming the file. funny.

I'm not thinking that the diary belonged to Ravenclaw simply because I feel like the Ravenclaw horcrux will be more academic in nature.

And I like your evidence for Harry being the 7th horcrux. Which is a theory I whole heartedly support because it in turn supports my theory that Harry has to die.

Not that I want Harry to die. Well ok I do but not because I don't like Harry. Happily ever after always seems a bit cheap to me.

that dumbledore knew he was going to die... and when he says "severus... please" he's pleading with snape to, in fact, kill him? someone said it to me and it got the old wheels turning. i'm just throwing it out there...

I'm very much hoping that Snape was a double-double secret probation agent and that he had an agreement with Dumbledore (much like Dumbledore's agreement with Harry) that if it came to it Snape had to kill him. If only to save Draco's life.

i also think that the set up in chapter 2, for snape's being evil, was a bit too obvious for it to actually be true. here's to hoping...
