So so....where are you exactly? How long are you there? How did you go about getting there (i.e. applying for the work visa)? Do you have a university degree or did you take a course in order to get a position there? What's the dillio with the commerce thing? How did you decide to do that?
Sorry...a million questions....but I'm dying to go there...or do something similar and I just want to get as much info as possible.
I am currently living in the city of Otaru which is on the most Northern island of Hokkaido. It's population is 150,000 and is 30 minutes from Sapporo which is 1.5 million people.
I am here for one year and am here on scholarship through the University of South Dakota's Business school. I am a "sophomore/junior" at USD and have just returned to school after taking a 2 year break.
In order to teach English through NOVA or JET program you need to have a college degree. It doesn't matter in what, just as long as you can speak English, they want you to teach. (I've got a few friends who do it)
Ummmm, I think that's it. If you come with any more, drop me a line!

johnny_x recommended I check out your LJ. He says you've just taken off to Japan to teach, and I'm thinking of doing the same...
Might I add you and pick your brain?
