Daddy? Would you and mum TOTALLY freak out if I went for a visit to Chicago, Illinois in the states? Not right now, obviously... but soon? Or if I went to the states to visit, for a while at least, period

I've met a man who's becoming a friend (and yes, I mean a FRIEND, Daddy) and he lives in Chicago. I'd like to go meet him face to face and he wants to show me around Chicago to see if I like it there...
I also want to go to New York. I've got a friend there as well. His name is Arthur. He's also a rent boy He says he'll show me all around New York too, and I'm sure that Granddaddy Danny would let me stay at his house...
And I know you and mum hate the idea, but I really do WANT to move to New York!
His name is Harry Dresden. He's a wizard. The only one in the whole phone book! *giggles*
Father, I wrote a book, and I've spent very little of the money from that. I could probably live there for several years on what I have in my bank... Would you like to see my account information?
I don't UNDERSTAND? Mum moved to London at 16, didn't go back forever, and look at her. She's been beyond happy, and it was where she needed to be. Who's to say that New York isn't that for me? What if the constant movement and 10,000 things to do every minute help me? What if it's where I'm meant to be. Besides, it's not like I'd wait 15 years to come back. I'm NOT mum and I wouldn't be leaving on a bad note.
