Abuse Policies

Following up on my last post, we've just released our abuse policies for public consumption.

There is a big disclaimer attached to the page that I'll repeat here:

This still doesn't address problems with how lj_abuse OPERATES...

All the guidelines in the world don't work if we can't verify that the enforcers follow them.

Exactly. I know first hand how, just the week, lj abuse has not followed proper procedures for suspending someone.

Is there a check and balance system? Who makes sure lj abuse is doing things right? Does Brad, or someone who's not on the abuse team, look over cases before the decision to suspend someone is made?

*shrug*

All we're really told is that the proper checks and balances are in place, and that the abuse people are fantastic at their job. Who tells us this? The abuse people.

Has the policy changed since you posted this?

I swear there was an entry that said the original maintainer of a community could claim the community, but now I don't see it.
