importing entries.

Hey, I was just wondering if there is any client available to import all your entries into another lj?
I have read in the FAQ that LJ doesn't support this, but maybe there is a client that can help?

Many thanks, Siantelle

I don't think there is a way to do a *complete* re-import.

In theory, I could probably modify my program (LJ-Sec) to allow you to post entries from one journal to another, with metadata (tags, etc.) intact. BUT, there is no way to export comments and replies that I know of. So I really didn't see that as a big priority for now.

Livejournal does have a journal renaming service, which costs money unfortunately.

Hmmm...actually as long as the date and tags were intact as well as the text, I think that'd be pretty cool.

Sure, you'd lose comments and replies, but if you're just after a record of your thoughts...

But yeah, I see your point. Plus it'd probably be very time-consuming for you to modify it.

By the way, well done on your program. You must be very talented and diligent to create something like that.

It wouldn't be *too* time consuming to modify, probably a day of coding or so. When I could get around to it, however, who knows. When I created LJ-Sec, I had more time than I have right now.

And thanks for the compliments on the program. :)
