Yes, we are here and delighted to be so.  LiveJournal is looking to expand even further across the globe and we want to get moving in India.

Indian users of LiveJournal have always been a lively community and we want it to help it grow.

Nice! One question, though. Is this geared strictly towards Indians living in India, or are NRIs expected to gain something from it as well?

Interesting point.. angiasaa June 4 2008, 19:26:58 UTC
Not jumping to conclusions, but frankly speaking, if you're an NRI with close ties to India, the benefits would definitely surface. :o)

I'm not sure about direct gains, but if your friends and family back here in India are more active because of the work done here, it would be an indirect gain for you as well. Also, there could probably be schemes that involve your activity when you visit the motherland.

All things left aside, if you can come up with a plan where NRI's gain directly from it, I'm sure your suggestions would be more than welcome. It would be absolutely fabulous to have NRI's involved in this process toward a bigger, better LJ here in India. Especially considering the sheer number of NRI's we've got!

As such, I don't see anything as strictly Indian or non-Indian in nature. If it works to increase India's footprint, I suppose it would be nothing short of cool!

If an idea's good, it should'nt go to waste now, should it? :o)

You bet, during our recent trip to India we discussed this point at some length. We are open to all ideas and have already reached out to a couple of NRIs in California. Once we complete this initial planning phase and start to focus on product development we will certainly ensure that NRI opportunities are covered.

Why LJ in India ? drawat123 June 12 2008, 18:16:35 UTC
My first question is why LJ in India?
When it already online accessible to all global citizens.

It means we should try to know where should we need to concentrate on LJ India like what specific India requires from online interactive forum?, where lie the India and how to get access of them in phase ways?

So I would like from my LJ bloggers or from outside to share your views on this issue so that we can have well define LJ India.
Thanks
