 Hey everyone,

We're pushing pics.livejournal.com (scrapbook) through some new servers, so performance will be much better. What that means for us is more reliability, faster uploads, and less headache. The service has been mostly left on its own for a while (2 years? more?), so it is due for an upgrade.

Does this mean that .bmp images will actually upload? I've never been able to get one into my scrapbook and always have to go to Photobucket or something like that. =/

In general, bitmaps aren't recommended for the Web because of their large file size. You should stick with PNG, GIF, and JPEG when posting to the Web.
