There were elections in Moscow on Sunday iirc.

And navalny (recently sentenced to prison in what outside observers are pretty clear in calling a fake trial designed to remove an influence opposition voice), who got 27 percent in the mayoral election, is one of the most popular Russian LJ users. It was said that some of the earlier attacks were targetting him and people like him as well. Some "democracy" Putin has going there.

Well, it seems Mister Pootin (Lubianka) attaked LJ on the Mister Sobianin's behalf, for the Moscow 'elections'. So, the point is not to allow LJ work for the russian sector only ;)

Oddly, for me, the previous entry was in Russian earlier, but now both that one and this one are in English. I kind of wish they'd post the Russian and English versions all at once, though. I had no idea there were settings for this...
