This tool allows you to find users with an arbitrary number of given interests, rather than the limited single-interest search LiveJournal currently provides.

Didn't LJ used to have something similar? Something that showed which users were most like you? Is that gone completely now?

would it be difficult to make something that could do

location AND interest?

like, list all users from California that are interested in Earthquakes..

Interesting idea. I think it would be impractical though, since finding out a user's location is a process (downloading, parsing) entirely separate from finding users interested in something. The dilemma is this: It could be done if there were only a few people interested in some things, but in that case it could be done just as easily by hand.

So in short, I can't do that now.
