Showing the login box (bypassing the "Not logged in" JS)

If you're using either Opera 8.x (with UserJS enabled) or Firefox (with Greasemonkey), you can add this very simple script to kill the annoying "not logged in" message, which makes you click an extra link to show the username and password fields when you are logged out.

THANK YOU! Getting logged out every time you close the browser window gets very annoying very quickly.

This script doesn't fix that, it just makes sure you always see the username/password fields when you ARE logged out. Not being able to stay logged in is a whole different issue. Try this FAQ maybe?

I'm still waiting for a fix for the fact that Thunderbird doesn't support replying to a comment in the email form.

That can't be fixed with UserJS/GM. I think it has something to do with Thunderbird not passing POST variables correctly, but I may be wrong. You may want to hit Mozilla's bug database.

they used to have it this way, and then changed it to the link format. i miss the old front page, too.

I haven't updated Greasemonkey yet, does the newer version actually support scripts, or is it the release they made that stripped the entire extension due to security reasons?

Ironically enough, this will probably make my life more difficult now that I've un-learned the old way (which, by the way, I loved) with the login box automatically showing.

Ah well, progress... :)
