I dunno. When you submit your blog to Technorati, it commonly asks you to verify that the blog belongs to you by entering your blog's username and password. And thousands, if not millions, of people have done just that without any known incidents.
Hmmm.. how safe is this site anyway? It doesn't seem like a good idea to be giving out our LJ passwords to just any random site.. even one such as this. Audblog (http://www.audblog.com) is a similiar service that lets you posts audio to your journal, yet they do not ask for your livejournal password. Any thoughts on this?
Sure it does: "Step 1: YOUR Blog Info" - asks for login info.
Frankly, I'd be a lot _more_ concerned if services could post to my account without my username and password... LJ provides an API for this type of remote access, and this API requires that your username and password be used.
I used Audblog like two years ago and I don't remember them asking for our passwords, I thought that when you wanted to post an audio post you could go in and view all of your saved audio files and post them manually from there, ie: copy the code and put it into your journal yourself.. therefore no password exchange was needed.
They might be doing it differently now, and if so, I apologize for assuming.
Yeh you are right, it is probably not that big a deal.

Gabcast seems just as legit as Technorati.

Technorati profile is probably the most useful though.

What information about my blog do I need to sign up for the audblog service?
1) Your Blog username
2) Your Blog password
Looks like they need your password to. :-)
