A follow up to MySpace and LJ

Jul 16, 2006 13:52

So in the previous post by sfgabe he gave you a feed burner method to having your LJ posts show up on your MySpace profile. I responded with a quick flash movie I'd made to do just that. It was a little buggy but I finally got around to messing with it again so here goes.

Embed this in your profile page:

Is there a way you can do something similar between LJ and Xanga or Blogspot?

you want to show the contents of your LJ (blog) on another blog site or the other way around?

How many blogs do you need? I don't even like maintaining one. :)

Hmm. Well I never use those sites. Do they allow you to embed anything into your profiles or what not?

On Xanga it didn't look like there is any real place to embed it other than if you put it in a post.

And Blogspot (aka Blogger.com which I think is also google or something) looks the same way. so I'm not sure sure what the point would be.

If you have a paid account you can setup a news feed pickup for your account if I remember right. So you could have your LJ pull a feed from somewhere else through XML and display it here.

I actually have a question, I tried messing around with it such as customizing height and width but that completely screwed up the entire thing. Is it possible to size it, or at least size it in the future?

Well, I just attempted that. But the irony is that I haven't found any way of getting the width/height you set in the embed tag. I'll look into it some more later unless you happen to know a way. :)
