Hi! I made minifesto a while ago, and a lot of lj niftiers seemed to enjoy it.

I just finished up another tool for animated text icons called signbot. It makes a scrolling LED sign and it has a setting specifically for making LJ userpics.

The font I'm using just doesn't have that many glyphs, and there's an encoding issue for code-points above U+07FF.

If you know of a bitmappy TTF font with more glyphs (cyrillic would be sweet), I'd love to use it.

Unfortunately not. At the moment, I can only work with fonts that are designed in a pixely way, like the ones at http://www.dafont.com/bitmap.php . I don't have a general-purpose hint-supporting TTF rasterizer that could make Arial look good at small sizes.
