The Usenet newsgroup comp.internet.services.blog.livejournal (also available through Google Groups) was recently created. Part of the point of this group is to allow for ongoing discussions of LiveJournal issues, separate from LJ itself; this would be, in my opinion, beneficial for both technical and social reasons. It's a good place to go if/when LJ is down. I hope "The Management" will take note, as often, LJ the status page ain't all that statusy.

That's exactly the kind of thing I'd like to see. Heck, I'd find it kindof neat if LJ status was mirrored on the newsgroup.

Amazingly, NNTP has survived getting reinvented as the more difficult to use mailing list, the even more obnoxious message board, and later the bandwidth suck known as RSS.

But I guess some people enjoy their CADT technologies, so there's that.
