It's a good place to go if/when LJ is down. I hope "The Management" will take note, as often, LJ the status page ain't all that statusy.

Amazingly, NNTP has survived getting reinvented as the more difficult to use mailing list, the even more obnoxious message board, and later the bandwidth suck known as RSS.

But I guess some people enjoy their CADT technologies, so there's that.
