I like the concept. I'm the current maintainer of clive and there are quite a few things I'd still like to improve on it. But I lack the time/commitment right now and the last update on clive was ages ago. Templates and hooks are definitely on my wishlist. I'm interested in ecru and plan to play a bit with it.

Did have a bit of trouble with cloning the git repository though (but I'm no regular git user):
~:> git clone http://github.com/novel/ecru/tree/master ecru Initialized empty Git repository in /usr/home/johans/git/ecru/.git/
fatal: http://github.com/novel/ecru/tree/master/info/refs not found: did you run git update-server-info on the server?

That github URL is for the repo detail page. On it, you'll find the clone URL... in this case:

git clone git://github.com/novel/ecru.git

Don't forget to have a post-editing hook for doing things like processing Markdown. I'm not sure how you'd seperate that from headers, but it seems a reasonable thing to want.

Now THIS would be something I'd be interested in, as well.

Any chance it could come with a Markdown processing script in the future?

Yeah, it has post-edit hooks even now, I just forgot to mention... Separating body from headers is supposed to be done by the author of the hook script, but it's really easy to do. I think I'll implement a reference markdown support soon.

Looks good -- I'll be interested to see how it comes along. (I might even see if I can help, but no breath-holding, etc.)
