I don't like the new profile page even one bit, so I wrote a script to reset it.  So far as I've tested, it works in all five LJ themes, using Firefox 3 on Windows Vista and XP ( Read more... )

Random passer-by who stumbled across your script. Thankyou VERY MUCH for providing the opt-out option that LJ refuses to give. Honestly, I can't tell you how happy this piece of script makes me, and I'll be pimping you out on my journal now.

Thankyou thankyou!

Edit: Er, and a quick question, how do you hide the "Also Friend Of" portion of the profile?

Open the script for editing, and search for this line in the Set This block (somewhere in the line-500 range).

if (ljFriendOf) { setTable(ljFriendOf, 'Also Friend Of:'); }

Add double-slashes in front of the line, then save and exit, and reload a profile to see it changed.

//if (ljFriendOf) { setTable(ljFriendOf, 'Also Friend Of:'); }

OMG, I think I love you! Is there any chance you can write one to work with IE? And does this reset just your profile or everybody's?

replying to myself to say holy god, this rocks! I love this, you should show it to the lj people, to show them exactly how easy it can be fixed.

Eee.  What would one use for GM scripts for IE?  I only ever use IE for work (IE-only apps, yay), so I haven't a clue.

I will definitely take a crack at it, though; I love chances for geekery.  :)

uh, I know nothing about scripting, haha sorry. But a site i was looking at about how to use the scripts said they could maybe be used for IE? I dunno how, sorry, and can't remember offhand which site, I think it was the one that was like how to use this or something.
