D'oh, I just noticed that the Paypal link on the site pointed to an old email address - I've updated it to use my current one, so if you donated and it got returned to you, please donate again, using the new button on the site.

Or, if you just want to donate, that's good too ;)

I found a bug that exists in many LJ backup software, including yours, that prevents syncitems from being properly downloaded. In the other cases, they re-download the first 500 over and over, but in yours it just seems that it's incomplete.

There is an assumption in the software that there will be at least ONE post syncitem in the first batch of 500, but for journals like mine, where the first 500 are all comments, it screws up the software. I'm not 100% sure this is the case with your software, but it probably is.

I made a post in LJ_dev about this.

Any advice you can give me about still getting the LJ data was corrupt message?

I've been working on version two of this software for ages but stuff keeps coming up -.- It's very, very nearly ready for beta. Watch this space.

Thanks! As a non-programmer / non-linux user, I've not been able to find a single LJ-backup tool that will work for me. Yours did wonderfully until LJ did somethingorother, I'm sure...

This probably isn't the place to ask, but everyone's been backing up their lj's like crazy, so I tried your program, but I've encountered a problem. I have over 1200 lj entries, yet the program acknowledges only 358. Do you by any chance know what the glitch might be?

I also used this tool, and encountered a "sticking point" about a third of the way through... if you just let it go on doing what it's doing, it may unstick itself. (my process did.)

good luck!
