Ok, heres a picture of my jade plant that I got. Should I prune off the other small pieces of the plant, and leave the largest trunk there so it can get bigger? What else do you see that I could start doing with it?

Show me the jade! )

you can definitly seperate those smaller parts and start new trees with them. i did the same with my jade, it had a smaller shoot growing from the root system and i seperated them a few months ago when i re-potted it, and actually i think the little shoot is doing better and sprouting more than the original jade.

well, good luck!

i like its funny three pointy branches that stick out. gives it character. it's not my tree, but i think it has potential to get some crazy whacked out curves.

i have heard that jade is an extremely happy plant. you can virtually abuse it in any way possible & it'll be ok...forget to water it for a long long time? its ok! i've also heard that a fallen leaf will take root in the soil if its happy enough, so you could make many plants w/jade clippings. the only thing that was enough to kill mine was my cat thinking it was good play time toy & pulling the cuttings out of the soil! bad cat!

p.s. i think jade looks fantastic in contrasting glazed blue or pink dishes, especially when it flowers.
