I personally don't concider myself a kitchen witch, however, id say you got it in one with the later part. i've read alittle snippits aobut it here and there. there's a book called the Green Witch, though who it's by escapes me. and it talks about it a bit. the kitchen is your sacred space, and as you said, you put your intention into the food you prepare. Herbs come into alot, as you would probably guess. this wasn't very helpful, i do applogize :) ~Sage
In my opinion, I've always considered that a kitchen witch was a witch who centers her magick around her hearth and home which is her sacred space. Cooking is a big part of her magick - making foods to bring protection, prosperity and healing - brewing teas to soothe the body and soul - utilizing herbs in most everything she does.
I just want to say that while I probably know less than you about this, from reading the comments so far the idea of it all is very appealing to me. It evokes such warm and soothing images and feelings. I love it.
if you look at my freinds list there is a kitchen witch LJ site in there somewhere not too active but hey archives always give decent info.
Ive always had the urge to feed people and to dose sick people even if its just a gentle herb tea. these days im getting into making my own lip balms lotions healing salves and such. I am closer to the earth than I have been for some time. I started some seeds for herbs. there is such satisfaction from taking fresh whole items and preserving them in usefull anytime concoctions.
i dont think of myself in terms of kitchen witch either. I know that some kitchen witches dont like to share their kitchens with others
