Beltaine is one of my favorite holidays because it celebrates the fertility and togetherness of the Lady and Lord. I am not sure what are the beliefs of other Wiccans, but to me Beltaine is the day the Goddess is one with the Lord and becomes pregnant. It is generally a day to celebrate growth and abundance in your world and the world around you. As I said, I am not sure what other Wiccans feel Beltaine is about, but these are my beliefs. Everyone is different. It is wonderful that you are doing research on your own too.
I remember that Beltaine was the day I dedicated myself to Wicca 7 or 8 years ago. So for me this also a day to renew my dedication to the Goddess and God. I am planning an abundance and fertility ritual tommorow. I am also going to bless my new faerie altar that I set up on my window sill. Blessed be and I hope you have a wonderful day tommorow.
well, i always went the fertility route. life is sprouting all around us now, it's not like we could miss it. or at least it is in the north eastern part of the u s.
anyway, i try to celebrate the different ways that i am fertile and think about what i have created or nurtured over that past year. also, i think about all the posibilities of the coming year and try connect more fully that the time for hibernation is over.
also, i like to spend time with my boyfriend, but that's pretty true for all the holidays.
Beltaine is my birthday, actually. :3 I never knew the true history behind May Day being Pagan until I got interested in Paganism and did a little personal research. To me, it means I was born Pagan. I have always respected the Earth, all its children, and been one with them, and to me, my birthday is just another proof that I am my Mother's child. My first case of acne came out in the shape of the Big Dipper constellation, and then the second was Orion. My mom called me "a child of the stars", and I do believe my being born on Beltaine sealed that deal.
But aside from that, Beltaine, for me, is about celebrating life's beautiful cycle and thanking The Mother for birthing such wonderous children and showing us so much love. :3

Are you who I read a long time ago who found wicca on Beltaine when you didn't even *know* it was Beltaine at the time?
