1. Bus. Average trip is €1.85 for a medium length one, and there are discount multi-trip or weekly tickets available. See http://www.dublinbus.ie... )

Seconding what bastun_ie said, but I'll add one thing. Most of the main attractions are in the city centre, which is actually pretty small. If you stay in a centrally-located hostel and are willing to do a bit of walking, you can cut a lot of your transport costs.

Also, check out whether the hostel you're staying in provides a communal microwave/oven/refrigerator/etc. Food in Dublin is expensive, so if you can, you'd save a lot by heading to a supermarket and buying some basics to cook your own breakfast/dinner - or even some bread and sandwich meat to make your own lunch.

Can you please define what city centre is? Just name the main streets so I could find it on google-map. It will help me a lot in choosing the right place to stay in.

Making our own food it a great idea, i think we are going to use it a lot.

Thanks!

1) I really like DART for moving along the coast. It is easy to figure the routes and faster than bus. LUAS system is also good for radial trips. I find bus routes in Dublin are a bit complicated and hard to figure for a visitor.

2) Just walking Dublin is great way to learn about city.

3) I prefer to stay in smaller places along the DART route and come to city center. I find these are cheaper than very central accommodation.

4) Watch where the students go - they are a good indicator that the place is cheap, but relatively safe to eat!

5) Visit smaller towns along the coast of Dublin bay: Dun Laoghaire, Blackrock (antics market!), Howth (fish food!) and take bus tour to Powers Court.

Thank you for your answer!
When you say "antics" you mean usual antics (furniture, lamps etc)or there is a chance of finding Celtic-style jewellery?
I want to buy souvenirs, but I'm afraid buying them in Dublin's tourist shops will be too expensive.

Thanks a lot for the information you gave me, I'll definitely use it.

Are you on May 8th? I'd love to visit your club. Since I come from Israel, and our Dark Scene parties are... err, pretty lame, I see no reason to miss a good one :)
I'll be the girl with the logo on the back of neck :)

P.S. you'll probably know that one - where should I buy celtic/gothic jewellery?

Thank you once again
