I dislike the taste of coffee. A lot. I tried a mocha last year (again, to give a shot at coffee) and added about six fake sugars to it to get it drinkable, and then it was still yuck so I chucked it out.
Beer... not a fan, but don't really hate. Depends on the brand - Guinness I don't mind to an extent (can't finish a schooner); the smell of XXXX, VB, Carlton Mid - a lot of the cheaper general Oz brands - make me feel ill; Corona tastes like nothing; Pacifico tastes like a nicer nothing; Buffalo Butt Beer tastes like nothing; Blue Moon Beer is a slightly fizzier/bubblier nothing. I keep meaning to try Sol, Stella Artois and some James one but I can't be stuffed forking out the money atm.
(I prefer spirits - not vodka - malibu's probably my favourite alcohol. And cocktails. Because they taste like something. And I want to have a bit of really good scotch someday to see what it's like.)
Is it something to do with the bitterness?

I think I go for things a bit sweeter. But straight black tea I prefer with no sugar and only milk.

Hee. Ah, tell her to give it a shot - I think I'm proof enough of the possibility. ;D Also... the US beer I did taste was pretty mild, so it might not be too bad. (The can't stand ones are all Australian.)
