New outline of summaries for Superman/CSI

Feb 23, 2007 06:35

The other week I posted the part-by-part and overall summaries for my Superman/CSI fic - currently at  21,000 words! - but the muse has seen fit to force a few revisions and so it is now not a three-part piece, but four-parts. Yee-haw. At least I'm still having fun writing it, Muse be damned! At least I *am* getting closer to a finishing point.

Summary: The Daily Planet declared Superman’s death fifty years ago. Lois Lane has been missing all that time. Gil Grissom has always had an eye on that mystery - but will he be forced to reveal his own secret identity, endangering those around him?
Part I: Gotham: “I don’t know if you’ve been lying to me,” says Clark Kent in the voice of Superman, “or if you’ve simply been keeping things from me. One need not be an investigative reporter or a superhero to know something is amiss.”

Part II: Las Vegas: “You know, the Metropolis PD still considers Lois Lane a missing person after all these years,” Greg Sanders tells Gil Grissom. “I mean, it’s, like, the ultimate in cold cases, but it’s still open.”

Part III: Metropolis: “Gil, I just want to know something that at least resembles the truth,” Jim Brass says. “I have nothing against meta-humans - and I understand the whole don’t-ask, don’t-tell mentality, really I do.”

Part IV: Kandor: “Because Nevada has never had a superhero proclaim him- or herself guardian of the state or any of its cities,” District Attorney Jacob Hess says, “the state legislature has never created any laws which protect their civilian identities - unlike most of the other states in the Union. That’s the problem, Mr. Grissom.”
