I'm actually pretty pissed. they've taken something I have bene a following fan of since 1992 and turned it into a mockery of a teen twilight soap. NO MEREDITH? She alone is one of the major players in this series. Especially near the end. I dislike the chosen actors ( not personally ) for Elena and Bonnie and Caroline. Switch Caroline and Bonnie. I'm disgusted at the fact that they are removing the younger sister and replacing her with a teenage DRUG ADDCITED brother, for the sake of lusty female teens. Fail. No real Aunt Judith? Once again what 20 something going to college is going to raise these teenagers? Oh right only on the CW apparently. I am going to miss Aunt Judith. Mat and Vickie as a couple, makes me sick too. These books and this author was my childhood, and now I feel as though it's going to be completely made into a 90210, Gossip Girl travesty. Bah.

If Matt and Vicki are going to be a couple, I'm watching just for the incest trainwreck, as they're brother and sister in the show. ;)

Is me or the actor who is going to play Stefan doesn’t look quite as good to be a vampire. I like Ian as Damon but the Stefan choice I doesn’t like at all. I like more Zach Roerig to be Stefan he is more handsome. By the way I can’t imagine Nina Dobrev with blond hair.

I've been out of touch for awhile, not least of which is a current hiatus from LJ. So I only just caught wind that a) there's a 5th Vampire Diaries book now, and b) 'Diaries' is getting the greenlight for television. After getting myself up to speed, I couldn't find my way here fast enough. That said...

'Diaries' as we know it is dead.

I'll save the book discussion for another post and concentrate on the series. When I saw the picture of Elena, I couldn't believe it. When I reached the bottom of the page, I still couldn't believe it. Is this a joke?

I'm not disappointed. I'm not angry. Disheartened is more like it. 'Crushed' may even be an apt description, as I held these books very close to my heart as a teen.

Ladies and gentleman, this concludes the diplomatic portion of our segment.
