It seems like at least two contributors to
shota have been issued warnings by the Abuse Prevention Team:
http://community.livejournal.com/shota/273024.html(backup link, f-locked)
http://community.livejournal.com/yaoi_daily/4904558.html According to both contributors, the warnings have been issued about friendslocked content, posted to the community.
Original warning
Dear LiveJournal user thefacelessevil,
We are contacting you because we have received multiple reports of material in violation of our policies in the 'shota' community, which you are the maintainer of. LiveJournal's policies do not permit images (including cartoon-like artwork) which depict minors engaged in graphic, sexually explicit conduct.
As maintainer of a community, it is your responsibility to ensure that content meeting this description is not present within the community. Please monitor your community and ensure it stays within the guidelines of this policy. Thank you.
Regards,
Brian

thefacelessevil's response
Dear LiveJournal,
When Strikethrough happened, 'shota' was a community that was deleted - and then reinstated - The content is no different then it was. Shota has been investigated and reinstated and I see no reason why it needs to be reviewed yet again.
Shota has been heavily adult locked since the first day that it has came into my hands(about 3 years ago) and features a disclaimer that no minors are depicted in it's art in it's info page, use of LJ filters, and is completely friends locked.
Those who may be reporting this community are purposely going out of their way to hunt down "potential threats", which is ridiculous. I ask that, as a loyal Permanent member of many years, that you continue uphold the original reinstatement and leave the community be.

Thank you,
Abuse Prevention Team's Response
Dear LiveJournal user thefacelessevil,
Please be aware that the community was suspended under a policy (which was quickly retracted) which called for action to be taken based on interests listed in the community's profile. This should not be taken to mean that no content in the community violates current policies, as no specific entries in the community were evaluated when the community was previously suspended.
The Abuse Prevention Team does not monitor or review communities, we only investigate and act on reports of specific content which the reporter feels violates our policies. We cannot ignore credible reports of violations present within your community.

Brian

Dear Livejournal,
I'm sorry, I have to cry FOUL on this one. Per your former CEO:
http://news.livejournal.com/99159.html Specifically this paragraph:
3) Journals that we do not restore will be journals that we are fairly sure are actually intended to encourage activities that put minors at risk but we will review them if requested by their owner to be certain that we did not make a mistake.
In which case, per the communications that were released last year - All the journals that were suspended for questionable interests were investigated for harmful CONTENT and given the clear.
Shota was given the clear. Why is it being investigated again?

Addendum: For the sake of clarity, some explanation. Shota (or, more properly, shotacon) is the subgenre of yaoi or slash that depicts erotic activities where at least one of the participants is a minor. Then again, please remember that we are talking about imaginary characters in fiction or art. For a longer explanation, please visit
the Wikipedia page.
