As you might have noticed, recent changes at LJ may result in more markup errors than before if your entries contain incorrect HTML. Semagic has an option to automatically replace 2 spaces with because most browsers do not display consecutive space characters. But Semagic does not preform HTML parsing so if that option is enabled all such ( Read more... )

Just wondering. Are there any plans, now or in the future, to support logging in to multiple LJ users simultaneously?

you dont need to re-login, just switch user and press just_edit

No, no. I don't mean to re-login. I want to log in to several seperate LJ usernames simultaneously, just selecting the one I post from the same as I would select to post to a community. Surely it's not all that difficult.

I just discovered (much to my chagrin, as it caused me to lose a very long entry) that Semagic has a recursive replace function.

I tried replacing Cambria/l with Cambria/laborday/l, and off it went... forever, until I had to abort the program.

Could you possibly fix this?

Thanks.

repeat exactly what was the text and what did you replace. from your explanation i cannot reproduce it.

I had a series of about eighteen image tags, all of which had the following in the address: photos/Cambria/laborday. And I changed the directory they were in and wanted therefore to stick an extra /laborday/ in there, so for the find string I typed Cambria/l and for the replace string I typed Cambria/laborday/l, with the intention of ending up with eighteen occurrences of photos/Cambria/laborday/laborday. However, it just kept replacing and replacing and replacing....

speaking of losing entry, it should have been autosaved, also you may check previous copy draft_old

Hi! I've been using the Semagic for years as my jl client and loved it. I finally got around to upgrading the other day to make posting with my Japanese character set easier and I love the newer version.

Only, for some reason it keeps crashing every time I try to upload my friends list by pushing the 'upload from server' button. I tried installing slightly older versions hoping it was a new flaw, but no luck. Is this maybe the result of an XP firewall?

Ah, my apologies. I see that this has already been addressed before.

can you locate the version when it worked for sure? does it actually trasfers anything or crashes before download? (look at status messages)

The version I was using before didn't require any downloading of the friends list. It was a really old version.

I fixed the problem by deleting the friends from my journal with non-roman character sets and then adding them back after the list downloaded.

Before I did that it had managed to download part of the list before freezing, but I don't remember exactly what the status message said.

I can't find anywhere else to find help on this so I guess going straight to the creator will be useful.

Yesterday my b/f and I got new computers (as in new, they were just other computers around all formatted and made like new). I'm not sure about him but I downloaded the latest version of Semagic but on both of our computers we can't connect to LJ. I get the "Cannot contact server - Try again later" error. I know the problem isn't with LJ because I can post using the web interface with no problems.

Any idea what the problem may be and how to fix it? I'm using WinXP.

Hi, I just installed SP2 and I am having the same problem as above. I added Semagic to the firewall exceptions list, I even disabled the firewall but still no luck.

www.livejournal.com com is alive and well and the problem has persisted for a day so I figure the problem is on my side.

I also wanted to say I really love Semagic and until I fix it, I'm too lazy to use LJ. So I hope you can help!
