It was a hard decision to make, but owing to increasingly obtrusive / obnoxious advertising practices, I will no longer be using LiveJournal.

This journal will be kept as a record of the last almost 8 years, but otherwise... it's done!

Indeed! I'm in Facebook (I'm your friend, even :) ) ... and I'll be posting my journals there as notes :)

I had been importing them through my RSS feed, but that seems to have stopped working, so for a couple of weeks I was posting in both places... but the obnoxious ads here have steadily convinced me :(

I have been rather lax at keeping up with my internet sites in general but never good at keeping up with facebook. I am trying to get better because I think it is important to chronicle events and "who I am" on a regular basis. I have been further inspired because I am going to be in charge of the blog for the insectarium here and I figure if I am blogging for work I should take the time to do it for myself personally.

I thought of you recently because it looks like our traveling exhibit might go to Chicago. When our exhibit is open we send an employee every weekend to work as a "bug chef" and, though I have the option to go, thus far I haven't gone to any of the sites. I will totally go if it goes to chicago and I figured I might look you up while there ... however, we are talking a year away - but I am still excited by the prospect!

You're coming out this way? Simultaneously cool and exciting! While I am moving to Madison, it is not very far at all from Chicago and I would be able to come down and visit (barring being decapitated by roving barbarians are called to an overseas post ;) )
