It's one of the strangest conditions, yet so endearing! I actually saw something about one of hte few survivors of it. The kid is like 15 and has to rub excessive amounts of lotion over his skin and then wrap himself in plastic before bed. Weird!
Although I don't have the same affection for the disease, I also find it interesting. That teenaged kid had to eat 7500 calories a day because he sheds so much skin every day. I would live with harlequin fetus if it meant I could eat uncontrollably all day long.
I forgot about the 7500 calories thing, though I agree that I, too, would bite the bullet and be born with my eyes inside out and a shell for skin if it meant that I could eat a neverending supply of great foods that I can't now [like chips and french fries and snickerdoodles, oh my!].
