fannish update

The exciting thing about doing remix is that this is the first time since... 2002 or so that samikitty and I have been taking part in the same fan activity. We're in completely different fandoms, but still, I think it's pretty awesome. We shared fandoms when I wrote my very first fanfic! And years later, I still talk to her (email her) almost every day ( Read more... )

Hikago is terribly addicting, isn't it? <3

It's so great to have friends from so long ago that you still talk to. <3 That's a special kind of friend!

It is terribly addicting! And it's not like I don't know what's going to happen, I don't need to stay up and lose sleep over it (again), and yet, I still keep doing it. :)

Hikaru no Go is so much fun to read. I'm not really into fic about it, but I do have fun reading it every single time. Of course, I kind of wish either they'd stopped at 17 or had gone a bit further than volume 23, since I'm not a huge fan of the actual ending.

17 would have made such a satisfying ending. I'm glad for some of the stuff that happens after, but that would have been totally satisfying.

I've become awfully used to manga/anime and Japanese RPGs having dissatisfying endings, and I still can't decide if it's all down to different cultural expectations or if the money just always runs out at the wrong time. :(

I don't mind some vague endings (I can't imagine Evangelion with a conclusive ending, actually) but there are some series something like that works well with and others where it doesn't work at all. Hikaru no Go's ending isn't horrible ... but it could've been better.
