Played a tiny bit more Sims 3 on PS3 last night as I waited for the washer to finish a load of laundry. My couple's third adopted baby looks nothing like them, so the first two who look so much like them are just flukes. One of my characters met a ghost last night. He seems to have not realized that she was a ghost. It amuses me that if you ( Read more... )

The Sims is a terrible, terrible time suck. Every so often I think about loading it up and looking for some sparkly sim skins, and then I realise that it will EAT MY LIFE again, and I'll end up playing for 24 hours at a stretch and looking like a Sim with a red gem over their head.

Yes, it's awfully strange how one can get so caught up in them and making sure they're all clean and well-fed and happy and then suddenly it's Sunday morning 3 AM and you realized you haven't showered in days and...

It really is for the best that I don't get back into it, but... I liked my pop!sims.

I used to love Terri's Sim posts, where they were all crazy and sleepless all the time. I don't have the willpower to just let the game run and watch what happens -- I can help turning into a terrifying sim overlord, and have them all eating and sleeping and studying and working on a strict schedule. And enforcing friendship and relationships according to my master plan.

I'm with you there! It's entertaining sometimes when I catch them doing something totally unexpected, but mostly I'm all "Do your homework!" and "I know you're an evil!sim but stop that evilness right now!"

(It's so disturbing when I go into town with one of the sims, to come back home and see the random signs that the other sims have been getting up to all sorts of things without me. And it drives me a little crazy not knowing why the goth!dad sim took one of the babies out and set her in the backyard. ...)

Me playing the Sims:

Hmm... let's play this game a bit. Ooo, a job. Ooo, some interactions. Playing some chess... mmm skills. Yes, good times.

*Three days later*

WHY HAVEN'T I SLEPT?!

*Sleeps*

WHAT THE HELL DID I WASTE THE LAST THREE DAYS FOR?! I HATE THIS GAME!

^.^;;

I want to do a house that's Shindou and Touya and pretend that them playing chess is really them playing Go, but it would be like three days later, all I have done is make sims play chess and have sex. Oops.

(Last weekend I totally lost to playing Sims. I'm only saved by having written fanfic on Friday. But I still have to finish remix and do my idea for blind_go, and I still have Hikago blowjob fics playing in my head, too...)

That's totally an acceptable way to spend your time... XD

(I SUPPORT THESE FICS.)

Except, I keep thinking about honey being trickled on Hikaru's belly (and then licked off by Akira, of course) and I can't think of any plausible reason for it, other than I want it.

*happy thoughts*

I made the mistake of re-installing Sims 2 not so long ago.

I've now hidden the shortcut in a file because I was getting nothing else done.

Since I've turned aging off, I've been breeding them in CAS and haven't had much luck producing kids that look much like the parents. Annoying.

I need to turn aging off...

No, what I really need is to buy the real game and start doing it how you do it, but I haven't money to spare until maybe June. *crosses fingers*

The console version is so very limited and I'm not really building houses at all which is what I loved the most in Sims 2, but... it is giving me my fix.

I think it's kinda crazy how the town people age up and marry and change their names and die in this version. Sure, it's a lot more realistic than it was in Sims 2, but since I'm limited to only playing one house, it's also very crazy making. Because I see interesting towns people and think, "dude... when my child Sim is old enough, I want her to try dating that one!" But the townie turns into an elder or dies or marries someone else in the meantime. I want to be more of a god over everything!
