I hope this doesn't suck...llamabitchyoJanuary 5 2012, 22:54:44 UTC
Hikaru’s not one to judge, but good grief, the world of young professional Go players is a poorly socialized bunch. You make a simple, common, boring mistake and they’ve all got to comment on it and make it into a thing. It’s not a thing. Really, it’s not
( ... )
I think I've mentioned it here and there but I have lots of love for the story that was written for me this year called 'Give it a spin'. Not only does it provide the snark and/or banter I so love when it comes to popslash in general and Chris/Kevin in particular but there's also this secret thing I have for ballroom dancer!Kevin and so I was more than just pleasantly surprised by this particular AU. <3
And I haven't a clue which fic you wrote this year because I'm quite sure I (unfortunately) didn't read it. And, like I said to Pen, since I'm usually horribly off when it comes to guessing I'll just write you a ficlet if it turns out I did read yours this year. ;)
Ballroom dancer!Kevin is such a lovely thing! I'm glad your gift actually fit in with a secret you have. :)
Do you have a prompt for me? I'm giving away ficlets for MtYG chatter since I just that sad & pathetic.
Or maybe I should try a little dancing!Kevin for you. But I don't know enough technical stuff... though I've watched Strictly Ballroom an embarrassing number of times.
I really enjoyed 'Switchback', and that's coming from someone who doesn't generally go wild over gender flip stories, so...yeah. (There were a lot of stories I liked this year, that was just the first one I happened to think of.)
If you still want prompts (and if you're not sick of me yet) let me know and I'll try to think of something not-too-contrived!
Cool! Thanks for sharing about a fic you liked. And your example highlights for me one of my favorite things about the exchange. I find myself reading things I never would have otherwise and some of those things are just super! Makes me wonder what else I'm missing the rest of the year.
Your last prompt was fun, so please do share another if you think of one.
Wow, I can't believe you're up (and online) this early!!
I know what you mean. Sometimes I can be a little too narrow-minded, writing things off based on their summaries and so forth. Which is stupid, especially when some of the best things I've ever done/read have been the result of risk-taking!
Hm...another prompt. (You are in no way obligated to do it, by the way.) Well, since it looks like I can never get enough of this pairing, how about Chris/JC and a time machine?
This year so far has been some sort of sleep/time warp where I can barely stay awake at work, drink too much coffee, then manage to steal only short chunks of sleep. I feel awful but my mind is racing along with fic ideas for people, so it's not all bad.

Am I allowed to say something lovely about my own fic?
