Not the FIRST fic I have written in a while, but the first one that makes sense as a standalone save for one about nightmares that I need to revisit. I entirely blame Read more... )

You have such a deft hand with description -- so visual.

(And then I feel very guilty about disagreeing on Phoenix characterization, because I used to be able to enjoy a much wider range of it, but I've gotten too damn picky because I'm watching myself as I play. Gah.)

But <3 for fic.

Aha, well that is OKAY. I do spend a lot of time fiddling with my decisions on characterisation and cross-checking with possibilities from canon, honest XD I don't just chuck stuff out there without justifying it, 'cos I like the games too much (which is why I like to play within canon if I can, rather than AU a lot).

BUT, it's inevitable that different people do exactly the same and yet draw completely different conclusions according to personal tastes/experience/cultural background. I entirely respect that - it's the fun of fanfic.

Aaaan, thank you for the compliments on the writing, your opinion is always valued XD

Naw, wasn't saying you were. (...I think I need an icon of Westley Stickler with some sort of "stickler for canon accuracy" joke. Hmm...)

Characterization discussions, either directly or via fic are probably my favorite part of fandom. I *like* the debates and disagreements. It's like being back in college literary debates without having to spend ten hours a week translating Greek first.

Ahahah! PANTIES!

Well, I studied EngLit for some years, so I am accustomed to 10 different well thought out and well argued and supported arguments being developed from one piece of text. And yes, it is part of the fun of it - both in expending the brainpower developing the theory and in debating it afterwards.
