A week or two after this quarter started a girl named Claire from my Japanese class realized that we actually live on the same floor in Lander, my dorm on campus. Was this the girl you were practically DRAPED over when I saw you earlier today?

Irregardless, way to go man!

Seems like everyone in the group is finding someone--it's like 10th grade in reverse or something.

Where did I read the thing about someone hating when people use the word irregardless, because it's not a real word or something like that?

Irregardless originated in dialectal American speech in the early 20th century. Its fairly widespread use in speech called it to the attention of usage commentators as early as 1927. The most frequently repeated remark about it is that "there is no such word." There is such a word, however. It is still used primarily in speech, although it can be found from time to time in edited prose. Its reputation has not risen over the years, and it is still a long way from general acceptance. Use regardless instead.

Yeah I think you're remembering from an old (short) DJ post I made that contained it, and someone threw the dictionary at me.

I stand by it though, it's more stylish than a plain regardless.
