Christmas Eve

The gifts are wrapped and under the tree. Er, under the table that has the tree sitting on it. I switched from a full-size real tree to a table-top tree when we got the puppy. One of his favorite activities was yanking the lower branches off the pine trees in the back yard, so I figured ( Read more... )

I hope the day was a happy one for you and Michael! The tree sounds wonderful. My trees in the past have always been "tradition" trees (full of traditionally-used ornaments, each with a memory). Haven't had a tree since being on my own; no particular room, not sure where to find the boxes of Xmas things (probably in the storage locker), and reluctance to raise any memory-ghosts all the way around. I had a nice couple of days with J, much of the time spend mosaicking and drinking 'way too much wine. Very mellow and laid back. Didn't want to come home and go back to work!

Belated Merry Christmas to you -- and best wishes for a very Happy New Year!

I'm having the problem of not getting email notifications of comments. I should be checking more often.

A belated Merry Christmas to you too, and a Happy New Year! Sounds like you and J had a good time of it; glad to hear it. The day was a happy one for us too--very peaceful. I cooked a turkey that turned out well. I had even better luck with a cioppino recipe for New Year's Eve.

Was the annual New Year's Eve party not held in Flagstaff this year?

Thanks for the tip! I checked out Rob's lj--you're right, he hasn't posted since June, but I like his writing style. :)

I know about the fireworks on WoW--Mike's been glued to his chair playing since he's been home for the holidays. So now Mac is playing WoW too? I'm still stuck on the decision to buy a computer with a faster processor and more memory. I'm about to go deep in debt: I've got papers that need to be notarized--an application for a home equity line of credit. This place needs fixing up in a big way.
