The local forecast still shows a 30-40% chance of thunderstorms through tomorrow night, but the worst seems to be over. In case you haven't heard, the DC area has had torrential rain, with flooding and a mudslide that temporarily closed the beltway. Perhaps if she announces she's going to do all the cooking, you can sweetly reply "That's wonderful, as long as you clean up as you go along."

Kinda far to go to drop off the dog, but thanks anyway. :) Actually my mother is a dog lover and is getting along very well with Saint. Besides, she doesn't need the dog to knock her down: she's fallen twice already. Just unsteady on her feet, apparently. Scary. No damage yet, though--she's taken "slow falls" if you know what I mean--not flying through the air and crashing, which is my personal style.

That flight *does* sound like one of the worst I've ever heard of. I've had all those things happen, just not all in a single trip!

It's got to be confusing for Saint. I'm sure he can roughhouse with you and Michael easily enough, and he's of a breed where that comes naturally. I hope nothing happens!
