man... that sounds really difficult... for all three of you.

i guess we can hope she'll start to form her own identity with time but even that must seem like a stretch if she doesn't even have the self-confidence to pick out a cereal.

It does seem like a self-confidence issue, yeah. It's hard to explain. Especially this business about always ordering what someone else orders in a restaurant--it's as though she doesn't trust her decisions. And yet--she's not that way at home. She doesn't know how to be a guest, I guess.
